In this study, the heat and mass transfer of combined free and forced convection in the horizontal rectangle is explored. The governing equations together with the boundary conditions are solved numerically by using the finite volume method. The innovative idea in this study is to appropriately modify the Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equations algorithm and thereby, the numerical solutions of the flow variables such as the temperature and the concentration in addition to the components of velocity and the pressure are computed. The Richardson numbers (Ri) for distinct gases and liquids are calculated for different Rayleigh numbers at low (Re = 50) and high (Re = 5000) Reynolds numbers. The dimensionless parameters, such as the Reynolds number (Re), the Prandtl number (Pr), and the Schmidt number (Sc) are appropriately chosen to calculate the Richardson numbers. Consequently, combined free and forced convection effects are analyzed. Furthermore, the heat and mass transfer aspect for distinct gases and liquids is critically examined using empirical correlations. The accuracy and the validation of these results are ensured owing to the solutions obtained from correlations being advised in this study and those are existing in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, a resubmitted sampling-based successive sampling over two successive occasions control chart is proposed to monitor the underlying characteristic of interest. Auxiliary information of the first occasion is utilized to monitor the relative change in the study variable over the second occasion successively despite high degree of correlation. The structural and operational design is presented along with the comparative performance evaluation. The average run length is used as a performance evaluation measure and proved the argument in favor of the presented concept in comparison with the other auxiliary data control charts. Efficiency of fuel cell is dependent on reactant distribution, products evacuation, pressure losses and many of these factors is dependent on the design of flow field plate. With an effective design, reactant distribution, pressure drop, and water and heat management can be further improved. In this work, two new designs, as multi-serpentine set-up with additional slots and hybrid geometry, on stainless steel bipolar plates, are presented. Electrical performance, and pressure head losses are analyzed by electrochemical methods such as polarization curve and use of electrochemical noise as a diagnostic tool to further understand the impact of water management on performance. On the one hand, multi-serpentine design shows the best electrical performance with an increase of 0.2 V (66%) at 0.9 A/cm2 in comparison of traditional serpentine design. On the other hand, hybrid design reveals the lowest pressure head losses, with a decrease of 2 mbar (about 50%) in comparison of traditional serpentine design, and a higher stability with time that can be useful to downsize compressor and provide lower impact on fuel cell stack durability.  相似文献

The nickel-base superalloy 718 is a precipitation hardened alloy widely used in the nuclear fuel assembly of pressurized water reactors (PWR). However, the alloy can experience failure due to hydrogen embrittlement (HE). The processing route can influence the microstructure of the material and, therefore, the HE degree. In particular, the size and distribution of the (Nb,Ti)C particles can be affected by the processing. In this regard, the objective of this work was to analyze the influence of cold and hot deformation processing routes on the development of the microstructure, and the consequences on mechanical properties and hydrogen embrittlement. Tensile samples were hydrogenated through gaseous charging and compared to non-hydrogenated samples. Characterization was performed via scanning and transmission electron microscopies, as well as electron backscattered diffraction. The processing was effective to promote significant variations in average grain size and length fraction of special Σ3n boundaries, as well as reduction of average (Nb,Ti)C particle size, being these changes more intense for the cold-rolled route. For the mechanical properties, on one side, the cold-rolled route presented the highest increase in ductility for non-hydrogenated samples, while, on the other side, had the highest degree of embrittlement under hydrogen. This dual behavior was attributed to the interaction of hydrogen with the (Nb,Ti)C particles and stringers and its ensuing influence on the fracture processes.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyzed squeezing in the information entropy, quantum state fidelity, and qubit-qubit entanglement in a time-dependent system. The proposed model consists of two qubits that interact with a two-mode electromagnetic field under the dissipation effect. An analytical solution is calculated by considering the constants for the equations of motion. The effect of the general form of the time-dependent for qubit-field coupling and the dissipation term on the temporal behavior of the qubit-qubit entanglement, quantum state fidelity, entropy, and variance squeezing are examined. It is shown that the intervals of entanglement caused more squeezing for the case of considering the time-dependent parameters. Additionally, the entanglement between the qubits became more substantial for the case of time dependence. Fidelity and negativity rapidly reached the minimum values by increasing the effect of the dissipation parameter. Moreover, the amount of variance squeezing and the amplitude of the oscillations decreased considerably when the time dependence increased, but the fluctuations increased substantially. We show the relation between entropy and variance squeezing in the presence and absence of the dissipation parameter during the interaction period. This result enables new parameters to control the degree of entanglement and squeezing, especially in quantum communication.  相似文献

In this paper, synthetic T2 chart is developed to monitor bivariate process with correlated variables and autocorrelated observations. The proposed chart is a combination of the Hotelling's T2 chart and the conforming run length chart. The operation and design of the chart are described when observations are autocorrelated and cross correlated. The first‐order vector autoregressive process VAR (1) is used to model the bivariate data from an autocorrelated process of interest. Using an average run length as performance measure criterion in the VAR (1) model, it is observed that autocorrelation seriously impact the performance of the synthetic T2 chart. To reduce the effect of autocorrelation on the performance of the synthetic T2 chart, the skip and mixed sampling strategies are implemented to form rational subgroups in the construction of synthetic T2 chart. The average run length performance of the synthetic T2 chart implementing these strategies is compared with that of the standard strategy of formation of rational subgroups. It is observed that implementing skip and mixed sampling strategies within rational subgroup improves the performance of the synthetic T2 chart.  相似文献

This paper replicates the Diebold and Yilmaz (2012) study on the connectedness of the commodity market and three other financial markets: the stock market, the bond market, and the FX market, based on the Generalized Forecast Error Variance Decomposition, GEFVD. We show that the net spillover indices (of directional connectedness), used to assess the net contribution of one market to overall risk in the system, are sensitive to the normalization scheme applied to the GEFVD. We show that, considering data generating processes characterized by different degrees of persistence and covariance, a scalar-based normalization of the Generalized Forecast Error Variance Decomposition is preferable to the row normalization suggested by Diebold and Yilmaz since it yields net spillovers free of sign and ranking errors.  相似文献

反应堆屏蔽计算中经常出现厚屏蔽、小探测器问题,常规蒙特卡罗方法难以有效解决。基于自动重要抽样(AIS)方法,本文提出了小探测器自动重要抽样(SDAIS)方法,并针对小探测器问题,优化了AIS方法的虚粒子赌分裂算法。该方法在自主开发的蒙特卡罗屏蔽程序MCShield上进行了实现。使用NUREG/CR-6115 PWR基准题验证该方法的正确性和计算效率。结果表明,SDAIS方法可有效地解决厚屏蔽小探测器问题,相比AIS方法及传统的重要性方法,计算效率提升1~2个量级。  相似文献

环境对原子力显微镜悬臂噪声的影响

创新点说明:

1)发现了原子力显微镜(AFM)在高真空环境中具有非常小的噪声;

2)发现了AFM在液体环境中的噪声与液体粘度和悬臂运动速率之间的关系。

研究目的:

得到AFM的噪声和使用环境、悬臂种类以及仪器参数设置之间的关系,找出减小AFM噪声的有效方法。

研究方法:

模拟基于AFM的单分子力谱实验过程,通过计算AFM在高真空、大气和不同粘度液体环境中不同运动速率下力信号数值的标准差(即噪声大小),分析AFM噪声的影响因素。

研究结果:

1)V形悬臂在高真空环境中具有非常小的噪声,在大气环境中噪声有微小增大,在液体环境中噪声显著增大;

2)AFM具有较低的系统噪声,且系统噪声大小和悬臂到基底的距离相关;

3)随着悬臂运动速率的增加,V形悬臂在不同粘度液体环境中的噪声表现出相似的增大趋势。且液体黏度越大,噪声随速率增大的趋势越显著;

4)相同环境中矩形悬臂的噪声小于V形悬臂的噪声。

结论:

1)高真空环境中AFM具有较小的噪声和较高的分辨率,是进行单分子力谱实验的理想环境;

2) 在液体环境中为了获得较高的信噪比,应尽可能地减小悬臂的运动速率和液体粘度。
